The ARTAS Way
Designing an innovative, buildable project
An architect's job is to find the balance between innovation and buildability for their client.
There is little point in a design that can't be built to specification and budget. Neither is there any point in a building that lacks innovation in design, in the use of materials and in the little touches that make it special.
ARTAS builds innovation into a project from the briefing stage, during the drawing stage and in the review stages. We ask:
- What design options must be considered?
- What building and planning regulations will affect the project?
- What secondary consultants will be needed?
- How can the project best be managed?
- How can the costs be controlled?
We model all projects in 3D and work with consultants using a BIM system (Building Information Modelling). This saves money by identifying the buildability of the project while it is still in the drawing stages.
For example, our 3D systems allow us to ensure that our architectural, structural and service systems will work together in confined areas such as ceiling spaces, before the site works commence.
Our full AS/NZS ISO9001:2000 Quality Assurance Approval and all Insurances and Government Pre-Qualifications mean that we comply with regulations. But more importantly, it shows that we build quality into the project from the beginning.
In this way we complete projects on time and on budget.
